Definitely much better than the last one, showing a glimpse of his former brilliance.

Definitely much better than the last one, showing a glimpse of his former brilliance. Compared to Gervais, Sloss also had long segments of "original monologues," but the latter was much smoother and more entertaining—perhaps he hasn't yet experienced the harshest crackdown of cancel culture, so he's still stubbornly sticking his tongue out. Who knows? Listen and cherish it—although, given the overall decline in quality, hearing him repeatedly say he's a real clam no longer evoked the same feeling of wanting to nod in agreement as before. Moreover, this performance was too long and drawn out; not cutting jokes meant there weren't many good ones. A worse comedian but a better person, is a win for you but a loss for us...

I really resonated with one comment: the most shocking thing was realizing he'd aged, since we're the same age.

I really resonated with one comment: the most shocking thing was realizing he'd aged, since we're the same age. My memory of him was still that of the dark, cynical, and rebellious Jigsaw, and suddenly he was on stage talking about his wife and children. But his insightful observations and humor remained unchanged. Actually, I really enjoyed his anecdotes about witnessing his wife give birth; they were very real and offered a fresh perspective. I was really looking forward to his 15-minute TED Talk, but it didn't happen. I really like and even envy this kind of authorial work—having your life trajectory fully recorded, allowing you to reflect on it and also providing a reference for others.

He cramed in a lot of material, performed as expected

He cramed in a lot of material, performed as expected, learned frame-by-frame without props, and made fun of British and American comedians using "PC Gone Mad" to cover up their lack of ability—that's correct, but it feels a bit superfluous here. He himself knows that becoming a father has made him a worse comedian, but a better person, but there's still a long way to go.

My appreciation for male comedians has returned. I'm tired of watching people argue about whether men have the right to discuss reproductive trauma, and how people can tolerate Akinka's bland, PG-13 family jokes while simultaneously questioning whether empathic people's misery constitutes feminist performance.

Hahahaha, this is hell on earth!! To be honest, I didn't expect it to be this funny!! Especially the part about childbirth, maybe it's because of the third-person perspective, I like this one more than Ali Wong's!! Realistic, unsettling, yet full of warmth... Highly recommended!!
