This might be the biggest disagreement I've ever had with Douban (a Chinese movie review site)

Governor Ruan

This might be the biggest disagreement I've ever had with Douban (a Chinese movie review site). Other reviews called it a terrible film, but I loved it! This dark comedy doesn't have a plot that makes you laugh out loud, but it tells a story that's easy to get into: a clichéd main plot, but with some unexpected twists and turns, and a series of interesting plot twists in the ending, finally concluding with a calm yet deafening satire. It was a direction and outcome I never imagined before entering the theater! The protagonist has a strong aura of invincibility in the beginning, and the investigation and law enforcement departments are completely incompetent. Upon closer inspection, there are many plot holes, but as I watched, I stopped caring about them. Life is full of coincidences, and movies weave them together to tell a story and make me happy—what's wrong with that?

It turns out it's a remake

It turns out it's a remake; indeed, it's a world where modern forensic techniques don't exist. Unfortunately, I'm lenient with Curry because of his leniency towards other unreasonable parts, especially when he's playing a beautiful but villainous woman. Although this part is so confusing, was it handled this way in the original?

A wealthy girl falls in love with a poor boy and elopes without hesitation, resulting in her expulsion from her family. The poor boy unexpectedly becomes pregnant, and she becomes pregnant as well. The child has the right to inherit 28 billion yuan of the family fortune, but inheritance must be based on birth order. There are seven people ahead of him, and he kills them one by one. Finally, he finishes his kills, only to discover that his beloved has her eye on his money. When he is charged with first-degree murder, he realizes he has fallen into her trap. But for the sake of money, he compromises, giving her money in exchange for the chance to live with her. Top-level murders are ruthless; even a sliver of emotion makes it difficult to make such incomprehensible decisions. The story is captivating, a tale of fortune and misfortune, and should be cherished.

We all know this is a ridiculously absurd movie, but it doesn't pursue the rough feel of film or an artistic style. There are no grand scenes or exaggerated performances, the plot isn't deliberately mysterious, and it doesn't force any particular message. It's just a straightforward and interesting story. With its humorous, engaging, and efficient story, although it may not be as profound as Park Chan-wook's, this is the confidence of cinematic art that isn't afraid of AI, making you leave the theater with a smile.

The film "How to Watch Marqueri Trade in 800 Chanel Outfits," although a remake of a 1949 classic, inexplicably has the feel of a short, action-packed thriller with a crooked, dragon-like character (perhaps due to the male lead, hahaha 🤣).
